Copy of_Pastor_StieglerPastor Gary" was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and spent his summers growing up on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. He graduated from Susquehanna University with a degree in Psychology.

He and the former Janet Purvis have three grown children and nine grandchildren living in Salisbury, Maryland and Marlton, NJ. Pastor has recently retired and the couple has moved to Salisbury.

Pastor Gary is a second career pastor having spent most of his adult life as the owner of a sales and marketing communications company providing sales and marketing services to Fortune 500 companies.

At age 50, Pastor Gary attended and graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia with a Master of Divinity Degree. Pastor Gary served 8 years in Lakewood, NJ and 8 years in Vineland.

He was president Vineland Ministerium, a member of the Critical Incident Stress Foundation and a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Bay Shore Center at Bivalve, The hurricane Sandy Long Term Recovery Group, and a board member for Family Promise of Cumberland County. He was an active member and chaplain for the Vineland Rotary Club and has transferred his membership to the Wicomico County Rotary here in Salisbury.

In 2001 pastor Gary and his wife, Jan, toured Bosnia and Croatia as a part of a New Jersey Synod team to bring hope and caring to orphan children throughout this war-torn land.

In February, 2010, he joined members of Redeemer in Vineland on a Thrivent Financial Mission Trip to Mississippi to assist with the building of a home for Habitat for Humanity. He returned to the gulf coast four times in the months following hurricane Katrina.

Pastor and Jan live at 911 West Schumaker Manor Drive here in Salisbury. Both are avid gardeners.

They have recently joined the Ward Wildfowl Museum as volunteers. Pastor Gary will serve as our interim pastor for a one year period serving 10 hours per week. Please welcome past Gary into your homes as he begins his ministry with us.
